The German computer show "3sat neues" featured Evoke 2008 on Sunday. For those who missed it it is available as a video.

Timetable and some specials

Just some days before the party we put up a preliminary timetable. Not only listing the "usual suspects" (compos and deadlines, that is) but also some specials: * Jerome Muffat-Meridol from Intel will hold two seminars on multi-threaded und multi-core development * After the demo compo there will be a live-act by Roquette Science & Looza * Friday evening we will show a selection of the finest demos in memoriam of Crest.

Evoke goes 16:9 and HD ready!

Evoke will feature a 16:9 bigscreen with HD ready resolution this year! If you want your demo to be shown in full size you have to make sure it runs in 1280x720 resolution. Best way to achieve this is to include a resolution and aspect selector in your demo/intro. You can also deliver different executables of your 4k/64k intro if you have filesize troubles.

Entrance fee

After more than six years with a constant (or even falling) entrance fee we had to raise it up to 30 Euro. A massive increase of cost (you might have heard the rumours) forced us to do so. We are aware that this is a whopping 50% increase, still Evoke is a pretty inexpensive event with it's own party (Evoke Tracks that is) and some additional features to be announced within the next days. You will definitely not regret your travel to Cologne. Promised!

LDD - Long Distance Discount

Those who will have to travel more than 700km to get to Evoke may qualify for a long distance discount. In order to get this discount, you will have to apply for it in advance. Please use the contact form (choose category 'long distance discount') to do so.

Buenzli & Evoke combined ticket

August 2008 - time for two traditional SwissGerman demoparties: Just as in the previous few years, Evoke and Buenzli are supporting double-party-visitors, demoscene-summer-trippers and i-can't-get-enough sceners with a combined ticket. Read more about it on the Buenzli webpage...

If you are younger than 18 and consider to visit Evoke, then please note that we highly appreciate that, but because of legal issues, we can not let you into the party place without a declaration of consent filled out by your parents. Please get in touch with us and we'll provide you with the necessary info.

travelling, lifts and hotels

Within the last days we added quite a lot of information: you may now add your offer for a trip (some seats left in your car, anyone?). Or add a seek for a trip. We updated the hotel page (with a camping site) and added all those locations to our google map. And finally we fixed some links. But after all: it's still the same location as last year ;)

demoscene.tv covering evoke

All you lazy sceners that rather stay at home than visiting demoparties rejoice! Demoscene.tv is again covering all the important parts (at least what you guys seem to think is important (the real party...)). They will provide a live stream from Cologne in the usual quality. So if you can't make it, or don't want to move away from the couch, tune in on demoscene.tv to see the releases of Evoke - live!

The Cologne City Low Emission Zone

As some of you were already anxious about what they read about the green zone in Cologne we prepared an information page about that topic. With some good news: you will (most probably) not need a sticker to travel to Evoke!

Just as last year, this year's Evoke is delivering a music event on Friday at the near-by Sensor Club. Be prepared for bunch of DJs and live artists, including Resound aka Krii of Tokyo Dawn fame, glxblt (bp'08 after compo d'n'b DJ), 2krazy, Raytrayza/Kolor on the visuals, and many more.
